The Company was promoted by Late Dr. Padmabhushan B.D.
(Abasaheb) Garware, founder of several Garware Companies. The Company was
incorporated on 8th
August, 1975 named as 'Modern Nets Limited' in the state of Maharashtra and obtained its
Certificate of Commencement of Business on 29th March, 1976. The Company's
name was changed to 'Garware Marine Industries Limited' on 17.12.1981.

The Company's Chairman,
Mr. Ashok Garware, is the son of Late Dr. Padmabhushan Abasaheb Garware,
the founder of the Company. The other Companies promoted by the Garware
family are Garware Polyester Limited, Garware Wall Ropes Limited and
Garware Offshore Services Limited (Formerly Garware Shipping Corporation
Limited). The management of each of these companies are separate and the
Companies run independently. The family is in business for the past six
decades.
Mr. Ashok Garware is the Chairman of the Company born in 1938. He had his
entire education in England, first at Dulwich College and subsequently
at Cambridge University, where he attained
the Economic Tripos. He held several important positions in various
associations. In the past he was president of Bombay Chamber of Commerce
and Industry, President of Association of Synthetic Fibre Industry, Trustee
- Bombay Port Trust and Member of Western Regional Committee of IDBI.
Mr. Aditya A. Garware (Son of Mr. Ashok B. Garware) is a MBA from Lehigh University, USA and is associated
with the Company for more than 10 years.
MR. C.V. Ramachandran, Director - B.Com, L.L.B., FCS (Qualified Company
Secretary) and fellow member of Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
He has over 30 years of experience in secretarial, Legal and
administration.
Mr. V.V. Desai has Administrative and Marketing Experience of over 17 years
in various fields like Paints, Rural Products, Appliances and Fishing Nets.
Presently, he is engaged in the field of providing solution to solve
Chronic Liquid Pollution problems created by various Industries. The
Company promoted by him has successfully developed the formulations for
"TREATMENT & RE-CYCLING OF LIQUID WASTE FROM INDUSTRIES LIKE
DISTILLERY, TEXTILE, DAIRY, PAPER, and SUGAR ETC."
Dr. B.M. Saraiya is a Senior General Practioner (MBBS) with over 35 years
of experience in both private practice and in Government Organisations as
B.E.S.T. and Air India. He is also the
Architect of claim processing in start up of new Third Party Insurance. He
is presently a Life Member of reputed Medical Organizations viz., Indian
Medical Association, General Practioners Association and others. He is also
a recipient of many awards from the Medical Fraternity. He also has
experience in Administration of Medical Establishments.
Mr. S.v. Atre is a qualified engineer with a degree in B.SC. ENGG. ELECTRICAL. he has obtained his
diploma in marketing management from jamnalal bajaj institute (mumbai
university). he has working experience of over 30 years in
engineering industry. he was with chicago preumatic india ltd. (now merged
with atlas copco). he has been associated with the company for over 4
years
